Mini Lift… is a Minimally Invasive Facelift which can erase five to ten years from your face in just a couple of hours.
What is the Mini Lift?
The Mini Lift a unique less invasive smaller facelift customized to address specific problems or targeted areas of the face. Although a Mini Lift cannot give the same correction or dramatic results as a more traditional facelift with a larger area of dissection, the Mini Lift has many advantages. The Mini Lift lifts sagging facial muscles and skin in the mid-lower part of the face and jawline and helps restore the more youthful contours in these areas of the face.
The Mini Lift is performed in our outpatient surgical center under local anesthesia with mild sedation. When performing the Mini Lift, Dr. Coundouriotis uses advanced procedures and techniques which he has continually refined over more than twenty years of facial plastic surgery. This facial rejuvenation surgical procedure requires shorter incisions than a traditional facelift, and overall the dissection is less. As with all of Dr. Coundouriotis facelifts, a patient’s scarring is minor and almost undetectable. With the Mini Lift, post surgery recovery is fast, and there is little at home down time so people are back to work or normal routines quickly.
Who is a good candidate for Mini Lift?
The Mini Lift is ideal for healthy mid aged people with sagging facial muscles, jowling, and loose skin in the midface area. The Mini Lift is also an excellent option for the younger person who wants to reverse early signs of facial aging.
What about recovery?
The recovery time for the Mini Lift varies with the individual patient based on factors such as patient’s age, lifestyle, and skin condition. Depending on occupation, most patients return to work within a week.
Patients will experience postoperative swelling. To help minimize this, we perform Lymphobiology treatments before surgery and Hivamat Lymphatic Massage Therapy after surgery. Post surgical instructions provide details on everything needed to speed and ease recovery. Examples of post care steps include applying a cold compress as often as possible for at least the first 48 hours after surgery and to sleep and rest with the head in an elevated position for the first week. Patients will also experience slight bruising, which varies depending on the patients skin type and general tendency towards bruising.
A prescription for pain medication is provided although many patients describe experiencing discomfort rather than pain and typically take over the counter medication such as Tylenol.
How long do results last?
The duration of results depends on many factors including lifestyle, sun exposure, heredity, and skin care. Also it is important to remember that the normal aging process continues after the procedure. Generally speaking, Mini Lift results will last five to ten years depending on the individual, and younger patients may expect longer results. The better the condition of your skin, the better and longer lasting the results.
With any surgical procedure there are potential risks. Patients should always ask questions and have a thorough understanding of the procedure to be performed, expected results, pre and postoperative instructions and requirements. The MiniLift offers less risk of complications, but patients can experience swelling, bruising, and some discomfort or pain.
