What is Radiesse?

Radiesse® is a bio-compatible chemical (calcium hydroxapatite gel) designed for injection underneath deep creases and folds and is a longer lasting, safer alternative to collagen.

Radiesse® has a variety of applications. It is an excellent filler material for depressed acne scarring, especially wavy type scarring, and is also used for lip enhancement. Radiesse® is an excellent filler material for deep lines, especially the nasolabial folds and "marionette lines" extending from the corners of the mouth downward towards the chin.

What should I expect during and after my injections?

Depending on the area injected, either topical or local anesthesia is used, and mild sedation may make it more comfortable to take the injections. Depending on the area of correction, the procedure may call for multiple injections.

You may experience some minimal bruising and very minimal swelling the first one or two days after injection. Typically, the amount of correction decreases by 10% over the next 3-4 weeks. Residual Radiesse® from the original treatment can then be injected into the same site to augment the result.

How long before I see results, how long does it last?

The results of Radiesse® are almost immediate. Since Radiesse® is not derived from an animal source, no immune or “allergic” response is triggered, and lasts up to one year.

Botox® may be used in combination with Radiesse®.
Dr “C” has used Radiesse®injectable filler for over 12 years without any untoward side effects.
